Twitter phenomenon @MYSADCAT – the mournful mog with 134,000 followers – is to be the subject of a 2015 calendar.
The calendar will feature the best posts from @MYSADCAT, where humour writer and Guardian columnist Tom Cox shares the trials and tribulations of The Bear’s life.
The Bear, now 18 years-old, has much to be melancholy about, for example, the fact that he will never be a philosophy professor thanks to his being trapped in the body of a feline.
Tom Cox says,
“There’s been a huge demand for a 2015 My Sad Cat calendar from followers of @MYSADCAT – aka The Bear – and I’m absolutely delighted that Graffeg will be publishing it. Even The Bear’s usual pensive, troubled intellectual demeanour seemed to crack and break into a slight smile when I told him about it.”
Graffeg founder, Peter Gill adds,
“The Bear’s daily challenges are documented in wonderful humour by Tom Cox – and the most popular of these posts will feature on the calendar.
“We have harnessed the staggering people power of The Bear’s Twitter fans has been harnessed to assist with the selection process, and thanks to the fans’ overwhelming contribution, we have whittled down hundreds of images to just twelve.”
The Bear is already the star of several books, including The Good, The Bad and the Furry.
